Happy 70th birthday!

Hi all,

Happy Sunday everyone :)

Just wanted to upload the 70th male birthday card I sneak peeked the other day as it's Ray's birthday today and by now I hope he would have opened his card from his wife :)

Here's the card in full:

Ray's a huge sports fan, loves his cricket and Dagenham & Redbridge Football (did you notice the football strip), so I made the card using Stampin' Up! cardstock and accessories, with the help of Woodware Clear Stamps for the sports related stamps :) *Must* get myself
"Just Soccer" on P.38 for any cards that I might need to do in the future, football related, and perhaps "Just Tennis" too - both might come in handy and are only £10.95 each set!

By the way, in case you were wondering, the owl from "Forest Friends" was stamped, cut and stuck on the back of the card as I didn't think having the owl stuck on the front with all the cricket bats/balls/footballs etc would go!

This card is pretty big and it wasn't till I finished that I realised it wouldn't fit into a standard sized envelope, let alone an SU envelope! lol. So made one to fit and finished it with stamping, cutting and half sticking down three footballs on the back, so that the envelope flap could tuck underneath the three footballs to close.

Stamps: Forest Friends. Non SU: Clear Woodware - Sports.
Cardstock: Whisper White, 12x12 Textured Cardstock - Ballet Blue and Brilliant Blue.
Inkpad:
Ballet Blue, Brilliant Blue and Close To Cocoa. Non SU: Memento - Tuxedo Black.
Accessories: 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon - Real Red, Crop-A-Dile, Jumbo Eyelets - Pewter, Sponge Daubers, Paper Snips, Tombow Multi Purpose Adhesive, Craft Knife, Number Templates, Acryllic Block.
Card Size:
Approx w: 9-3/4" x h: 8-1/2".

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your day!

Bye for now,

Alex

Who's 13 Today...

Hello blog,

Well what a day, just didn't stop raining did it? Okay, so it's my friend's daughter's 13th birthday today - Happy Birthday Irina :) I've heard today that she loved the card, so it's safe to say that I can now post it here...

Recipe
I used numbers 1 and 3 die cuts out of chipboard for the base of the card, then covered with SU and Bazzill papers - Ballet Blue and Red (Would have used SU Real Red, but I've run out since making the Chinese New Year cards).
Used Versamark Stamp Pad with a variety of football stamps (football, football boot and trophy) all over - Woodware Stamps.
Cut out and spelt the name "Irina" using my Silhouette Digital Craft Cutter Machine (this is about the fourth time I've used it now! lol) and placed letters onto front with Zig Zag Glue.
Stamped another football onto the SU Ballet Blue cardstock, cut out and attached with 3D foam pad to raise it off the base of the card.
Finished the two chipboards with my Big Bite and added SU Pewter Jumbo Eyelets (P.82).
Then finally attached with ribbon from my stash :)

Hope you like, please feel free to leave me a message.

Bye for now,

Alex

Slideshow

Hi all,

Well the other day I was looking online at all my favourite blogs I visit for inspiration and I saw that some blogs have a snazzy slideshow on their blog which displays their cards or scrapbook layouts. Got me thinking that I should do that too, seeing as previous to this blog I have made lots of cards, not necessarily with SU products, but with other brands instead, e.g. Penny Black, Doodlebug, Woodware, just to name a few.

So, after clicking a few buttons here and there, I've finally got a slideshow :) The top one is just cards that I've recently made over the last few months. The second slideshow are the cards I made for Christmas 2008.

The first slideshow was pretty simple and took a little bit of time. I added cards in batches so it didn't feel so bad. However, I learnt my lesson for the second slideshow, and thought I'd upload all 33 at the one time. Oh dear! Didn't realise, that once I started I couldn't stop. It was taking forever, so much so, that I was still here till nearly 1am the other night! lol.

So, after all the sleepless nights I've had this week trying to do this slideshow, the least everyone can do is scroll down to the very bottom of the page and take a look :)

Enjoy!
