Sneak Peek - Speciality Paper.

Hi all,

Well not long to go till the 1 October now :) It's so exciting and I've been flicking through my real copy of the Catalogue trying to learn all the new colours.

Haven't been making much recently with current Stampin' Up! goodies as I've been making things with products from the new Catalogue that I can't showcase yet. However, yesterday I made a birthday card for someone celebrating her 40th soon with current stash. I opened my brand new pack of Speciality Papers - Groom that I recently bought off the Last Chance List. WOW: I just love this paper, it's unbelievably thick and really worth the money. I didn't think I would find a use for black cardstock, but wow, I'm pleased I bought it :)

Anyway, I had a lovely play last night and am really pleased with the results. Until Saturday, I won't reveal the card, but I'll show a sneak peek below:

Sneak Peek

Pop back on Saturday to see the card in full. Until then, have a good day and be back soon.

Ruby Anniversary

Hi all,

Recently been asked to make a Ruby Anniversary card and decided to use the Speciality Papers (now SOLD OUT) again as these are just so gorgeous! I really like the quality of these foil cardstock papers and decided it was fitting to use these with Ruby Red cardstock for a Ruby Anniversary card :) The Ruby Red Satin Ribbon was acheived by brayering Stampin' Up! White Satin Ribbon with Ruby Red ink pad with the brayer :) I really like the effect that you can create ribbon in any one of the 48+ colours from the numerous ink pads Stampin' Up! sell.

Ruby Wedding Anniversary Card

Stamps: Polka Dot Punches (SAB 09).
Cardstock: Ruby Red and Whisper White. Speciality Paper - Bride.
Inkpad:

Accessories: White Satin Ribbon, Brayer, Full Heart Punch, Embossing Buddy, White Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Bone Folder.

Enjoy your day.

Golden Wedding Anniversary

Hi all,

Just wanted to upload a new Wedding Anniversary card I was commissioned for recently. As it was their Golden wedding anniversary, I wanted to use gold cardstock, so have used non-SU for the base, matting of the sentiment and heart. The ribbon was bought in Singapore earlier this year, which I love as it's appropriate for most Wedding Anniversary cards and the colours suit this card especially seeing as I made it in gold and Very Vanilla. The large Very Vanilla heart has been covered with Versamark Dazzle so that in the right angle/light it shimmers like a pearlescent effect. *Note to self:* Must try out my new Shimmer Paint which will give it the same effect - Shimmer Paint mixed with Isopropyl alcohol in a spray bottle to use like a Shimmer Mist.

Golden Wedding Anniversary Card

Stamps: Love You Much, Mr & Mrs (sentiment stamped inside and heat embossed in gold).
Cardstock: Very Vanilla. Speciality Papers - Bridesmaid. Non-SU: Kanban - Mink.
Inkpad:
Versamark Stamp Pad, Versamark Dazzle - Frost (for the Very Vanilla heart).
Accessories: Stampin' Emboss Powder - Gold, Embossing Buddy, Heat Tool, Bone Folder, Paper Snips and Dimensionals. Non-SU: Ribbon - Happy Anniversary, Cream halfback pearls. *Note to self:* Must buy the Pretties Kit.
Card Size:
A5

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day.

An American Wedding

Hi all,

Well today's the day my friend is getting married, and with a bit of luck, the last thing on his mind will be checking out my blog :) lol. So I think it's safe to post this card in the early evening as it'll be early morning there (8 hours behind).

I have made his Wedding Card using the colours of the invitation that I received as closely as I could (I didn't have an exact match for the gold coloured cardstock). I'm sure they'll be pleased with the card regardless. Here's the card for the special couple to celebrate their day:

Workshop Today - Wedding Themed Cards

Hi all,

Hope you're having a good Bank Holiday weekend and will find a bit of time to do some crafting with the extra day off work :)

I had my monthly workshop this morning and the ladies came away with two cards each using the stamp set Mr & Mrs and the lovely Speciality Papers which I just adore and can't believe it's taken me till now to order them seeing as they've been available to buy for the past 7 months! lol.

As it's Wedding Season upon us, thought it was ideal to make a couple of wedding themed cards this morning, which could quite easily be used for Anniversary cards too. So, after seeing the sneak peeks of the cards the other day, here they are in their full glory:

Card One

This card uses the brayer to colour the Whisper White Speciality Paper - Bride in Blush Blossom to match the colour of the base cardstock. Using a brayer and any ink pad colour from the four colour families over these papers allows you to create your own papers from the choice of Stampin' Up!'s 48 different colours. This card also uses the lovely white satin ribbon too which again, is lovely.

Stamps: Mr & Mrs.
Cardstock:
Blush Blossom and Whisper White. Speciality Paper - Bride.
Inkpad:
Blush Blossom. Versamark Stamp Pad.
Accessories: Brayer, 5/8" Satin Ribbon - White, Embossing Buddy, Stampin' Emboss Powder - Silver and Clear, Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, SU Bone Folder, Paper Snips and 3D dimensionals.
Card Size:
8.5" x 4".

Card Two

This card was inspired by Jo, a fellow SU Demonstrator. Taking her card as a starting point, I used the same layout, substituted her layers with the Speciality Paper and changed the colour combo and little embellishments. Thank you Jo, you can see her card here :)

Stamps: Mr & Mrs.
Cardstock:
Basic Black Textured cardstock and Very Vanilla. Speciality Paper - Bridesmaid.
Inkpad:
Basic Black. Versamark Stamp Pad.
Accessories: 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon - Basic Gray, Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, SU Bone Folder, Paper Snips and 3D dimensionals.
Card Size:
A6.

Here are the two completed cards together that were made earlier today in my monthly workshop:

Hope you like these and they have inspired and given you some ideas on how to use this stamp set teamed up with the lovely Speciality Papers :)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend - Remember to check out today's Stampin' Up! Offer on how to get products in three of the new colours coming to the new Idea Book & Catalogue this October.

They are going to use the lovely new Speciality Papers from the Idea Book & Catalogue, something that I've recently bought after seeing them in real life at the Reading Training Day.

So, here's a sneak peek of the two cards on offer:
