Card Storage Tote (Red, White & Blue).

Morning all,

Hope your week is going well and you haven't been hit by the winter viruses/bugs that's been going around at the moment.

Remember I showed you a sneak peek of the Card Storage Tote recently? Well, I finished making it for a lady that saw the one I gave as a raffle prize for the MacMillan Coffee morning back at the end of September. She loved the original one and asked if I could make one to match her kitchen but requested that it be big enough to fit both A5 and A6 cards inside so I had some tweaking to do!

Below is the finished project which I'm really pleased with. She requested that it be royal blue, red and white, so I used both current colours and the retired Brilliant Blue as it was a perfect colour to match her requirements to complete the Card Storage Tote below:

Large Card Storage Tote

Here's another picture with an insert on show. These monthly card inserts are bigger than the original ones that I have templates for, so I made new matching monthly inserts for the recipient to add special dates for upcoming birthdays and anniversaries to go with the tabs in the same font. With the new Christmas Gift-Giving Bundle Promotion this month, I was fortunate enough to be able to use the new Mistletoe Original Ribbons which match perfectly with her colour scheme :)

Inkpad:
Versamark Stamp Pad.
Cardstock: Real Red, Confetti White and Brilliant Blue (retired). Patterns Designer Series Paper - Brilliant Blue (retired).
Accessories: Scallop Trim Corner Punch, Round Tab Extra-Large Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Crop-A-Dile, Big Bite, 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon - Real Red, Mistletoe Originals Ribbon, Jumbo Eyelets - Pewter, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Sticky Strip, Stampin' Emboss - Clear, Heat Tool, Bone Folder and Paper Snips.
Card Storage Tote Size:
8" x 8" x 4".

Hope you like. Have a good day.

Bye for now,

Alex

Season of Joy Card

Morning all,

Hope your week is going well and you're looking forward to the remaining few days before the weekend :) I don't know about you, but November seems to be flying by too quickly and before I know it, I'll blink and it'll be December already!

Last night I had my monthly Wednesday Evening Session. The ladies came and crafted, making two Christmas cards based on the Season of Joy stamp set. As promised, below is one of the cards made last night. Sorry for the poor picture, but with the early dark nights, it's hard to take photos in natural daylight until the weekends. The card below was inspired by a card I saw online, with a few changes here and there. I used my new Scallop Trim Border Punch and the lovely new ribbon which is free as part of the Christmas Gift-Giving Bundle promotion this month.

All For Friends - Baby Boy Card

Hi all,

Hope all's well with you all and you're having a good Bank Holiday weekend :) After doing a little blog hopping for some inspiration, came across a lovely Baby card by a fellow demonstrator, Julie and decided to christen my Hostess Level 2 set from the new Mini Catalogue called "All For Friends".

Have made a baby boy card, but seeing as I really enjoyed this one, I think I'll make a girl version too! :) Watch this space...

Anyway, decided to use my "Queue Up" stamp set for the background of the card, using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to line up and stamp across the card. Stamped the babygrows three times onto Patterns Designer Series Paper and again onto Whisper White cardstock so that I could cut and adhere to the babygrows. I do love the effect of paper piecing, and the Designer Series papers are just gorgeous - something I don't use a lot of! lol. Anyway, did a bit of drawing on the Whisper White cardstock using the Stampin' Write Marker in Ballet Blue and with the Uni-Ball Signo Gel Pen in White onto the Ballet Blue cardstock. Popped all three babygrows on dimensions and voila :) Really pleased with this card, and can't wait to make the girl version soon.

Here's the card I've been waffling about:

Stamps: Queue Up (Hostess Level 3), All For Friends (Hostess Level 2) and Nursery Necessities.
Cardstock:
Bashful Blue, Ballet Blue and Whisper White. Patterns Designer Series Paper - Bashful Blue.
Inkpad:
Ballet Blue and Bashful Blue.
Accessories: Scallop Edge Border Punch, Word Window Punch, 3/16" Gingham Ribbon - Light Blue, Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, Stampin' Write Marker - Ballet Blue, Uni-Ball Signo Gel Pen - White, SU Bone Folder, Paper Snips and 3D dimensionals.

Thanks for coming by, have a good day.

A Rose Is A Rose Birthday Card

Hi all,

Well can you believe it's half way till the weekend :) Today I have been making a card for a wonderful 94 year old, and I think it's safe to say that she doesn't surf the net, so I think I can post the card here :)

I was inspired by this card and knew I had to have a go and get out my "A Rose Is A Rose" stamp set that I adore and haven't used for a while. I rarely use my Designer Series Papers (too nice to cut into), lol, but I decided to today. As this card is A5 in size, I decided that there was too much white space, so I have used the Poppin' Pastels technique (stamping the large rose in Versamark Stamp Pad, then using a Sponge Dauber to lightly dab Barely Banana chalk over the wet image for a subtle background. The sentiment is from a stamp set called "Whimsical Words" from the recent Sale-A-Bration promotion that ended in February.

A Rose Is A Rose

Stamps: A Rose Is A Rose, Whimsical Words (sentiment).
Cardstock:
Certainly Celery and Whisper White. Patterns Designer Series Paper - So Saffron.
Inkpad:
Barely Banana, So Saffron, Certainly Celery and Old Olive. Versamark Stamp Pad.
Accessories: Sponge Dauber, Stampin' Pastels - Barely Banana, Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, SU Bone Folder, Paper Snips and 3D dimensionals.

5-Petal Flower & Boho Blossoms Punch Birthday Card

Hi all,

Well, I'm here with another upload for today :) I've had my 5-Petal Flower punch for some time now, but I can count on one hand how many times I've actually used it on a card/project! It co-ordinates beautifully with "Spotlight On Christmas" on P.22 and the old Sale-A-Bration "Polka Dot Punches" stamp set, see here to view a Christmas card that I made with this punch back in November to create poinsettia flowers.

Anyway, together with Boho Blossoms punch, here's a recent card I made below:

Masculine Cards.

Recently been inspired by Aimes and decided to CASE a card that she made with her PTI goodies. I used Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper, their large star punch and "Basic Phrases" stamp set to create the card along with the ever so popular Kraft cardstock as the base. Here's two colour combos below which I think would make great cards for a male:

Stamps: Basic Phrases.
Cardstock: Kraft, Night of Navy, Real Red and Whisper White. Patterns Designer Series Paper - Bashful Blue.
Ink Pad:
Night of Navy and Real Red.

Accessories: 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon - Night of Navy and Real Red, Large Star Punch. Non-SU: Cuttlebug - Swiss Dots Embossing Folder.

Friday again!

Hello people,

It's been another busy week here and the sun is shining :) Thought I'd upload a few more cards that I have been working on from the weekend.

After liking the scallop dresses and getting the hang of how to make these, I made a few more:

After making the Certainly Celery card the other day and uploaded it, I experimented with the oval punches and a sentiment for this one. I'm undecided whether it needs this or not, so made all the other ones without! lol.

Hope you like,

Alex

Happy Birthday

Hi all,

Just wanted to post the card I've been working on this morning. I've seen so many of these cute dresses online that I decided to have a go myself with a matching bag. I used my trusty Nestabilities to create the scallop circle onto the much loved Certainly Celery Designer Series Paper. At the bottom, using a number of different Stampin' Up! punches, I have created a matching bag.

Hope you like:

Have a great day.

Another Week...

Hi all,

It's another week gone by since my last blog post. It's been a very hectic week this week, so apologies for not being able to do any blogging. I can however, show off my sneak peeks that I posted earlier :)

Remember I mentioned that my Mum's friends son and wife had a baby. Here is the card I sent them:

I also made a matching box so that I could fit in some little socks in, but unfortunately, when I bought the little socks there was so much card/packaging, they were unable to fit and I was short of time, so I couldn't make another box :( I'm sure I'll make a use for this box another time:

Have a good weekend.

Baby Sneak Peeks

Hi all,

Well where has the week gone to? I don't know where, but it's now Friday again.

Recently had good news that my Mum's good friend's son and his wife have recently had a baby boy, so thought I'd make a card and a box to hold a little something for the new baby :)

Here are a few sneak peeks until I know it's safe to do so.

Male birthday

WOW: What an amazing Men's Final at Wimbledon yesterday! I had planned to do and make so much, but what with the tennis being on, it was hard to pull my eyes away from the tv screen!

Anyway, I've been looking through my stash of cards that I have for when I need one and it occurred to me that I don't have that many cards for men. So I've decided, I'm going to try and make a few more seeing as the cards I predominately make are more female orientated. So, with this in mind, here's a card I made earlier using various Stampin' Up! products:

Stamps: Big Bold Birthday.
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Bashful Blue and Whisper White Cardstock. Patterns Designer Series Paper - Bashful Blue.
Ink Pad: Chocolate Chip and Bashful Blue.
Accessories: Stamp-A-Ma-Jig.

Hope to make a few more soon.

Bye for now,

Alex

Catching Up...

Hello all,

Hope life is treating you well and your week has gone off to a good start. I can't believe where time has flown to, but I've set aside tonight to do a bit of catch up blogging because it's been too long!

First of all, thank you to Aimes, Alison, Carole, Nicci, Nicki and Sarah H for sending me a Blog Award. It's really appreciated and so sorry it's taken till now to mention it. If you'd like to play and you feel you're worthy of this blog award :) please feel free to award yourself with the Blog Award below and do the following:

1) To thank the person who gave you the award, list their blog and link to it.
2) Write and list 10 honest things about yourself.
3) Put a copy of The Honest Scrap Logo on your blog.
4) Must select at least 7 other worthy bloggers and list their links.
5) Must notify the bloggers of the award.

So, what have I been up to lately? Lots of cards I guess, both for personal and a few commissions. So without further ado, here are some creations I've recently been working on below:

Wedding Cards

A card using both Stampin' Up! products - "Happy Hearts" stamp set and my trusty Cuttlebug Embossing Folders.

A card inspired and cased by Clair & Sharni using Stampin' Up! "Mr & Mrs" stamp set and Taffeta ribbon in Pretty in Pink and Kraft.

Big Birthday Celebrations

Happy 40th Birthday
using "Seeing Spots" stamp set.

Happy 80th Birthday using Patterns Designer Series Paper and Double-Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon in Rose Red.

Okay, I think I'll stop posting for now, then I'll have some more cards left to upload for the remaining of the week :)

Bye for now,

Sunday morning.

Hi all,

The weather's a little brighter now, so thought I'd take and upload a picture of the goodies that the ladies made in the workshop yesterday:

I'm really pleased with the end results - two matching cards and Mini Gable Boxes in Bashful Blue and Chocolate Chip - two of my favourite colour combos using various Patterns Designer Series Paper :)

It's The Weekend :)

Hi all,

Just wanted to say a quick hello before I retire to bed to say that I had a wonderful morning and to thank the lovely ladies that came to my Stampin' Up! workshop today.

I think everyone had a great time, I know I did :) and we made some wonderful goodies. It was quite exciting seeing the ladies creating the cards using a number of strips of Patterns Designer Series Paper. Then it was a first for my workshop to create a 3D item, so with the help of the Stampin' Up! Mini Gable Box Template, the ladies created a matching box using the same Patterns Designer Series Paper as the card.

As it's a little late now to take a picture, I'll pop a picture of our workshop creations tomorrow.

Bye for now,

Alex
