Birthday Boy.

Hi all,

Here's a birthday card that I've made recently for a special boy's birthday. He's a huge fan of WWE and so I thought I'd make a birthday card to celebrate another year older using one of his favourite wrestlers, John Cena.

Here's the card:

Stamps: Schoolbook Serif Alphabet.
Cardstock:
Brilliant Blue, Real Red and Whisper White.
Inkpad:
Brilliant Blue.
Accessories: Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, SU Bone Folder and 3d dimensionals. Image of John Cena downloaded from the internet. Happy Birthday sentiment generated on the computer using a WWE font.
Card Size:
A5.

Thanks for stopping by.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Stampin' Up! Weekend

Hi all,

Hope you've all had a good weekend :) I've had a very enjoyable weekend in Reading and it was nice to see some familar faces from previous Stampin' Up! get togethers and lots of new faces too.

The day started off with a pleasant surprise, as we checked in, we were given a Stampin' Up! carrier bag and in it was a fabulous new .................... from the Mini Catalogue soon to be released on Thursday 1 April!!! As you can imagine, my smile beamed from ear to ear as I peered into the bag to reveal what I saw! It's one of the ................... on my Wish List, so I'm really chuffed with receiving this at the weekend and can't wait to use it. (Sorry for the dot dot dots, I can only fill in the blanks at a later date).

The day continued with swapping our swap cards/fronts/projects with the other Demonstrators and I've come away with lots of different swaps back, from stamp sets I do not currently own yet, to colour combos I've never tried. It really is a lovely way of building up your samples to showcase at your classes and workshops, lots of inspiration and CASing.

The rest of the day was informative and fun, and I'm afraid at the moment, I can't say too much more as there's one more Training/Experience Event to be held in Plymouth on 10 April. We've been sworn to secrecy so that it's a nice surprise for our Demonstrators and Customers and I wouldn't want to spoil it for anyone reading my blog :)

As soon as their event has taken place, I'll be sure to upload pictures, especially of the evening event where our customers were able to make a number of lovely Make & Takes!

Anyway, be back soon.

Bye for now,

Alex

Reading For The Weekend

Hi all,

It's been a busy week here for one reason or another, so sorry for being MIA. I am, however really excited as I'm off to Reading for the weekend to meet up with lots of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators for a Training Session tomorrow which should be good and of course a lot of swapping.

In the evening is an Experience Evening put on for our customers, free of charge and an evening of "make and takes", so this should be a really fun day!

Be back later with a picture or two perhaps.

Have a good weekend everyone,

Alex

5-Petal Flower & Boho Blossoms Punch Birthday Card

Hi all,

Well, I'm here with another upload for today :) I've had my 5-Petal Flower punch for some time now, but I can count on one hand how many times I've actually used it on a card/project! It co-ordinates beautifully with "Spotlight On Christmas" on P.22 and the old Sale-A-Bration "Polka Dot Punches" stamp set, see here to view a Christmas card that I made with this punch back in November to create poinsettia flowers.

Anyway, together with Boho Blossoms punch, here's a recent card I made below:

5-Petal Flower Punch Birthday Card

Stamps: Sincere Salutations (sentiment).
Cardstock:
Regal Rose, Rose Red and So Saffron. Patterns Designer Series Paper - So Saffron.
Inkpad:
Regal Rose.
Accessories: 1" Double-Stitched Grograin Ribbon - Rose Red, 5-Petal Flower Punch, Boho Blossoms Punch, Rich Regals Brads - Rose Red, Stamp-A-Ma-Jig and SU Bone Folder.

Thanks for stopping by.

See you tomorrow,

Darling Dots - Birthday Cheer & Wishes.

Happy Monday everyone! Hope your weekend was a good one and you're looking forward to the start of a new week ahead.

As promised, I have a number of cards to upload here over the next week or so. So here's another card I've recently made below. I'm really enjoying using the Hostess Level 1 stamp set "Darling Dots" and have created another birthday card or two for my collection using the present stamp again :)

Hope you like...

Darling Dots - Birthday Presents

Stamps: Level 1 Hostess: Darling Dots and Cheer & Wishes (sentiment).
Cardstock:
Confetti White (base), Certainly Celery and Whisper White.
Inkpad:
Certainly Celery, Mellow Moss and Always Artichoke.
Accessories: 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon - Certainly Celery, Stamp-A-Ma-Jig and SU Bone Folder.
Card Size:
A6.

After making the card above, I decided that I liked the simple layout so much that I also made a few more in different colour combos seeing as I have a growing collection of different coloured 5/8" Grosgrain ribbons. See the completed set of four cards below:

In each card above, 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon in So Saffron, Regal Rose and Brocade Blue are used. The cardstock for each card are the same colour as the ribbon, and the ink pad colours are the same too, with varying shades of colour. e.g.
  • So Saffron card uses So Saffron ink pad with Barely Banana.
  • Regal Rose card uses Regal Rose ink pad with Pretty In Pink and Rose Red.
  • Brocade Blue card uses Brocade Blue ink pad with Bashful Blue and Ballet Blue.
The card bases for all four cards uses Confetti White cardstock - a new favourite of mine as this is a little thicker than the smooth, thin Whisper White cardstock which is great for a base :)

Bye for now.

Enjoy your day,

Alex
