Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper

How gorgeous is this paper? Below is a sheet from the new Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper Stack, and it's been agony cutting into this! lol. I've heard people that stroke paper and never use it, but I've never been one of those people. Well, until now that is! lol.

The project I'm planning to make today requires two sheets of DSP, so it's really painful for me to use up both of these gorgeous sheets from the paper stack. Anyway, hope it's all worth it, I'll be back later to show off the finished project... if it goes well :)

Until then,

Bye for now,

Alex

My Sweet Pea Card

Hi all,

Hope you're having a good weekend so far and have been enjoying the lovely warm weather we've been having recently :)

Yesterday I decided to play with my new stamp set from the UK Mini called "My Sweet Pea" which is on P.12. At first I overlooked this one from the Mini Catalogue, but after seeing it at the Reading Training Day when our customers played with it in the evening to make three projects, I realised I just had to get it as it fits so nicely with the co-ordinating Sweet Stitches wheel, Designer Series Papers and Stitched Felt embellishments :)

So, after buying the stamp set and Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper stack - which is really gorgeous by the way, I decided to case one of the sheets of double sided paper (see below) to recreate into a greeting card.

My Sweet Pea Card

I have to say, these are not my normal colours that I would reach for! I've not christened Taken With Teal cardstock or ink pad till yesterday and I've had both for well over year! lol. This has really been fun to try out new colours :)

To replicate the Designer Series Paper, I decided to keep with the same colours for the card above. I stamped the Pumpkin Pie and Pink Passion stamps onto Whisper White cardstock, cut out with my paper snips and added dimensionals for a raised look. The middle flower is stamped straight onto the Whisper White cardstock in Taken With Teal ink, then stamped and punched Old Olive cardstock and centred in the middle of the flower with another dimensional.

I have used Just Perfect Alphabet stamp set for the "hi" sentiment in the right hand corner and have layered them with oval punches.

Stamps: My Sweet Pea, Just Perfect Alphabet (sentiment).
Cardstock:
Taken With Teal, Old Olive and Whisper White.
Inkpad:
Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie and Rose Red.
Accessories: Stampin' Writer Marker - Taken With Teal and Old Olive, 3/4" Circle Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, SU Bone Folder, Paper Snips and 3D dimensionals.
Card Size:
A6.

Thanks for stopping by, if you have time please leave a message.

Enjoy the rest of the sunshine...

Bye for now,

Alex
